I feel like people dont lean into just how complicated dick and jasons relationship could and should be.

Give me these two boys who were thrown together, who didn't really fit together or get along, whose age gap was just a little too big for them to fully understand each other when they met, forced into this role of brothers even when they didnt feel that way.

Give me a young jason todd, so confused and annoyed that the guy who's supposed to be his big brother, his mentor won't even come home once a week to have dinner, who doesn't talk to him, and ignores everything he does.

Give me a hurt dick grayson, who is so angry with bruce and pissed off at the idea of being replaced that he just cant look at his new brother, even though he doesn't blame him.

(personally, i think my stance is that he has some ability to keep himself afloat in calmer waters- on the shore or in a pool- but not in the way where its a particular skill. hes spend enough time dicking around in the shallows with Jack & Sam & Ed to know how to handle himself in water where he cant consistently reach the bottom, to feel comfortable cooling off by a waterfall, but is also keenly aware that if he goes overboard, even in relatively calm waters, being able to swim isnt going to do anything to save his life if a dinghy isnt sent. hes not gonna drown the second he's in the ocean or anything, but hes screwed if the waters a little too rough or its late or a raid and it isnt noticed before the ships a way away.)

godddd its literally so obnoxious like he just makes assumptions that are either unprovable or provably untrue 😭 either way it’s misinformation… like if you’re making an assumption based on your own conjecture you should be open about what sources of information you’re basing your conjecture on. you can’t just present it like a true statement

“three children were born each with radagon’s red hair” rykard having red hair is an assumption that is not provable. you could point to the gelmir knight helm description (“its red feathers symbolize rykard’s pedigree as lord radagon’s son”) as evidence for why you believe that to be the case and make an argument, but then you also have to account for the fact that he literally does not have red hair in any portrait we have of him. the video this statement is from is presented like a grand cinematic narrative, so of course he goes with the romantic image of radagon and rennala’s three redheaded children complete with art and music and dramatic narration. that doesn’t automatically make it true though
